近日，河北大学张锋教育辅导的蛛形动物商讨团队在广东中山国度丛林公园马踢水景区发现一种蛛形纲新物种，经将强是全球新物种并定名为中山巨盾蝎（Megaschizomus zhongshanensis）。该商讨恶果以论文《First record of the subfamily Megaschizominae Rowland, 1973 from China, with description of a new species of Megaschizomus Lawrence, 1969 (Schizomida:Hubbardiidae)》在海外动物分类期刊Zootaxa发表。

本次发现的中山巨盾蝎附庸于蛛形纲（Arachnida）裂盾目（Schizomida）哈氏盾蝎科（Hubbardiidae）巨盾蝎亚科（Megaschizominae）。该物种雄性体长7.24mm，雌性体长7.21mm，体长显豁大于我国已知的其他物种。该种以中山市定名，形态产地为广东省中山市中山国度丛林公园，1件雄性正模和1件雌性副模标本部保存在河北大学博物馆（MHBU）。

此前，巨盾蝎亚科全全国已知仅2种，一王人分辨在非洲。本次发现为巨盾蝎亚科在我国的初度发现，将该亚科的物种数目增多至3种，也将该亚科的野陌生散从非洲拓展至亚洲。
